  1. Tokyo I haven't been since 2005 and back in those days used a website/guidebook called Tokyo Q which was excellent. Check out Toyko Food page at Bento.com, it has a good neighborhood listing service.
  2. Didn't know he caters events. Interesting, will have to remember this one.

    Blue Marlin

Does http://www.quarterdeckarlington.com/ have one? Not sure if it's tacky enough though.
  4. There is a Five Guys next door, too.
  5. Would you have drank that beer (2nd, 3rd or 4th) at your timeshare instead?
  6. I don't have an iPad but was checking out the new one at the Apple Store. Jamie Oliver's recipe app looked good.
  7. I recently found out there this is a season 2 of on my favorite Japanese cooking dramas, "Shinya Shokudo". Not sure if I posted it here before, but recommend both seasons for interesting little stories about a Japanese diner that operates at night and has bunch of characters whose stories get told each episode. Easy to find, just search for the title.
  8. I've been hesitant to try it out because of the reviews of Bazin's, but will definitely keep it in the list now after both of your reviews. Still, Mrs. Lion's guacamole was pretty damn good at home tonight, so I can't complain in terms of celebrating.
  9. Yeah, last weekend, we stopped by Hanaro after a quick trip to Middleburg, VA and learned that it had been bought out. The plan had been to buy an air purifier and get a few Spa World passes at discount. Losing Hanaro was a shame as they sold some interesting Korean pots and kitchen accessories. Also, they made 'fish cake' in a cup for $1. Mighty tasty with some sriracha!
  10. Tysons Corner outside the mall is not going to be a economically viable 'neighborhood' for high scale restaurants for the next 4 years because of construction, but honestly outside of a few restaurants in the past 20 years, it's never been a high end region. If you're in the neighborhood of +$200 for a dinner, driving to DC versus Tysons, isn't a factor because the extra time is worth it in terms of quality. Actually when you're north of +$200 for two people, it's for a special occasion and driving to a destination restaurant makes it special. Who wants to arrive 'dressed up' to the place you battle to get the Christmas shopping done? It would be better to get four 'start-up' restaurants in those spaces.
  11. Stopped by recently for my first visit. Very impressed with the mature and international style of taste. The quality rivals some of the best seafood focused restaurants in the DC metro area. I actually went to Passionfish the same week, and enjoyed the food at Fishnet more. Unfortunately, it's on the other side of the beltway for me, otherwise I would definitely throw it into my normal twice a month rotation. I hope it succeeds in the long run since the only negative I could see was the location.
  12. The website company that hosts the forum should have an admin 'control panel' with a tab that automatically generates statisics on web traffic.
  13. Always wanted to visit the restaurant, though having to use the verb 'visit' and it have a meaningful connotation to eating at a restaurant probably wasn't a good sign. If I had to choose where I would want them to land for purely personal reasons, the recently closed Once upon a Time toy store in Vienna.
  14. What program did he use? It will be like 'Microsoft Word' in that you can save a different file formats like word97, .doc, ... Here the printer is asking for .ai or .eps format.
  15. Image files are vector (printing) or raster (computer) based because of the intended audience. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Vector_graphics&mobileaction=view_normal_site In any of the 'illustrator' type programs you can choose the output format.
  16. It's pretty sweet and so far worth it.
  17. Thanks for the replies. Glad to hear the oven is functional. Sometimes with well designed kitchen items they just end up being ooh and ahh-ed at and never used.
  18. Has anyone bought and used the http://www.brevilleusa.com/the-smart-oven-tm.html? I know it's a little over the top for a toaster oven...but.
  19. I only went once, and it was a bit of detour, but it was worth it. That's the part of getting older no one tells you about, the characters, real, kooky, eccentric people and places that give way to the modern sterile and unfortunately boring and bland are the ones you end up missing the most when they're gone.
