  1. I love them as well. The Springfield Total has a section dedicated to Kacher wines.
  2. How did BLT Steak make this list? I just got my issue in the mail today, and I was surprised to see a such a new place on the list.
  3. I am not knocking the hustle, however we all know restaurants charge more on New Year's Eve because they simply can and some people will pay for it. It has nothing to do with the guality of the food, which is always great at Komi. I love Komi!!
  4. I have never spent that much in Komi! I will wait until after the holidays. I had it in my mind that they would not be as expensive as other places on New Year's Eve! I am sure the food will be better than most places, though.
  5. Go out and buy "Sunday Suppers at Luques" There is a killer bread pudding recipe in this book. By the way, this is my favorite cookbook right now! If you do buy the book make sure you try the Spiced Pork Stew with polenta! Her is a link to the Bread pudding! Great Bread Pudding
  6. I don't buy the argument that a bad review from an individual on this board will impact the livelihood of the employees of a restaurants. I don't even believe that a negative review from the Post could destroy a business. There are many restaurants that don't get talked about on this board that are quite successful(The Washington business journal just reported that the Clyde's restaurant group had $80MM in revenue this year). I do however, think that some people on this board take this food thing way to seriously. Is it really necessary to challenge every critic, or delete posts that are not in line with what everyone else is saying? I just don't see how this board could be that influential, in terms of destroying a restaurant because of what is posted here.
  7. wasted money is a big deal to some of us!
  8. Tried Buzz for the first time yesterday morning. It is a very nice space. My wife and I both had the banana waffles, which were good. We took three cupcakes home for later. The frosting was very good, however the cakes were a little on the dry side: they were nothing special (my search continues for good cupcake in this town) I may try the cookies on my next visit. What is the deal with all those unused expensive Illy expresso machines on the wall?
  9. I think the food is pretty good at these places. They have what may be the best service in the area, and great beer. It is a local chain, but the food is better that anything being put out by the Clydes group, or what you may find at outback or apple bees.
  10. As a foodie you should know most of the places that serve good food at fair (chain) prices. Here are a few: Mike's American Grill (Springfield) Ray's the Steak ( Prices just a little above outback) Bebbo (Prices may be lower than OG) Colorodo Kitchen Zataynia (SP) Reston Kabob Kabul Kabob Delhi Club There are many more places to name.
  11. Well said. I think OG has a pretty good bottomless bowl of salad, and the breadsticks are pretty good as well. I think we all forget that most Americans do not live in major metro areas, and if the OG is serving $5MM pours of wine to people all over the country that's a very good thing. That would make them in driving force in exposing people to wine.
  12. I did not get a chance to make it last night, will make an effort today. Were the cupcakes ready to eat, or will they need time to warm up much like those at cake love.
  13. I tried this beer on a recent trip to Phoenix. It is a good beer, I recalled the bartender telling me it was made in Colorado.
  14. Are there any good wine stores in the Kingstown are of Alexandria?
  15. I am not an animal lover, but It is really sad what they are doing to those lions.
  16. I am not sure you can get out of there in an hour.
  17. Burger Bar is over rated. We also tried the Fat Burger on the strip, and it was no better than Mcdonalds. If you are going to be there at night, The MIX bar at THEHOTEL at Mandaley, has the best view and great desserts.
