  1. Or to Three Stars. They are doing some really good stuff and don't bottle any of it yet.
  2. We usually get mobbed. Barely anyone here in southern Petworth tonight.
  3. I always hate to say this about a good story, but... http://www.snopes.com/quotes/mrgorsky.asp
  4. We haven't, although from looking at their website, it seems that they are very football focused - always a bad sign for baseball.
  5. You know, I live about three blocks from there, and have yet to go there. Should probably give it a try, huh?
  6. I want to expand my dinner possibilities. See, watching the Nats is important. Good food and drinks (beer and wine especially) are important. Eating, drinking, and watching the Nats all at once is ideal. Any thoughts, preferably in Adams Morgan, Columbia Heights, or Petworth, on places that will allow us to eat and drink well while watching the Nats?
  7. Is this the same space that, once upon a time when I was an undergrad, housed ... dang. I knew what it was, until I went to type it. Anyhow, back in the 80s, that was also a place thaht got a great deal of notice. Anyone remember its name? Safari something? Jim something?
  8. Huh. I can never get them to give me more than a tablespoon on the nachos. Obviously, I need to try this frito pie.
  9. And the onion rings. They had the ideal onion rings. Total onion ring perfection. (Oh, wait. That was the New Orleans Cafe, their place around the corner on Columbia Rd, where Pasta Mia is now.)
  10. Hm. How about Yekta (Persian)? http://yekta.com/about-yekta/our-supermarket/ Is it too big? Also in the same shopping center, a Russian place called either "European Delight" or "European Bazaar." Nice little place.
  11. Gr. The Post is wrong, Anna is right. Takoma DC. Takoma Park is in MD. Anyhow, the homebrew shop is open, and POPULAR! We've been in several times, and it is a really good shop.
  12. I would add La Caprice DC. Excellent baguettes and crossiants. And cookies. And sandwiches. 3460 14th St NW http://www.lecapricedc.com/
  13. I have never gotten food there. I love the coffee, but am not a breakfast person. (Actually, I love breakfast, just not as early as I love coffee. So I am always out of there before it is time for food. Then I go to La Caprice to get food.)
  14. Wow, all suburban. Anyone got any in-town thoughts, or must we go to the burbs?
  15. I want to eat Ethiopian food this weekend. But... Little Etihopia is closed. Last time we went to Queen of Sheba it was nowhere near as good as it used to be. Madjet is closed. Etete is fine, but a bit crowded. Same for Dukem. Ethiopic is fine, but crowded and we aren't really planning to be on that side of town. So, help? We like kitfo (raw! They cooked it last time at Queen of Sheba. Not nice. Pile of ground beef.) Sambusas are also a favorite. Other things, well, we will try many different things. We like to try a variety of food.
  16. IMO, Seneca Shore is more about playing ren-fest than about wine. What's 2 Goats? Geograpically, where do you wish to idle away said afternoon?
  17. I read it. I don't refuse to eat there because I disagree with them, as the author maintains. I refuse to eat there because they donate to groups that work for things I find wrong. Not incorrect, wrong. I believe he mischaracterizes the motivation behind the boycott.
  18. It used to be available here. I haven't seen it in quite a while, and understand that the distributor is no longer carrying it.
  19. OK, I'll admit to being a regular at the Red Derby, both for the good beer and for the burgers. And the service is always great. Very casual, but great!
  20. Oh, that's sad. I liked the stuffed potatoes - really, who thought to put BBQ on a baked potato? I also like when they have pulled pork tamales for a special.
