  1. adding to your growing list of options The Turkey Hill Experience. As you can imagine, there is no shortage of choices of where to go for ice cream!
  2. worth a shot asking the man himself, @Michael Landrum? Perhaps when the dust settles he may or may not chime in. One of the several values this forum brings to the informed landscape is that we have the rare opportunity to interact with owners, and or chefs, directly.
  3. I calling it in a bit early, but CBD infused anything.
  4. The website is currently under construction, but they do happen to have an active Facebook page as well as Instagram. I'm certain you could inquire what they have available. The food is exceptional, and the breads they use for their subs are provided by Cunninghams's in Towson.
  5. FOX is awesome! They prepare all of the flavors on premise. Oregon Dairy serves Hershey Brand Ice Cream. And they let you sample as many flavors as you want...
  6. Speaking of Medium Rare, Mark Bucher is offering opportunity of employment to anyone BOH or FOH that is unemployed as a result of this closure.. Contact him directly on FB.
  7. From what I can tell they do have two sub options at the Butcher shop. An italian cold cut , and I cannot recall the other one. i think perhaps a a turkey or Ham club. As far as creamery go in Lancaster, I highly recommend Fox Meadows Creamery, but there are several in & around Lancaster County. Perhaps you may be thinking of Oregon Dairy , or Pine View?
  8. John Brown General & Butcher Shop which once was a gas station and general store has been become one of my favorite spots to pop into on my way to Baltimore. Walking into this quaint shop is like taking a tour through the pages of Bon Appetite Magazine. From the meat case that showcases cuts , to the other case that houses an abundant selections to build a buzz worthy charcuterie board, and there is no shortage of options. As you head back of the building, you will find an array of spirits ranging from wine to liquor as well as local beer. In the few visits that I have made, I have feasted on cold cut subs, hamburgers, house cut french fries, and more recently hot chicken. All prepared in house, and lip smacking delicious. Heading into the warmer months, you can cross the street and pick up flowers and produce at a market stand. Anything you could ever need to prepare a delicious meal can be found at this charming little outpost.

  10. Battered fried catfish! I made a beeline to Mount Vernon Marketplace to indulge in the offerings I had no doubt would deliver deliciousness. I have not had the chance to venture to College Park to visit the flagship location of Fishnet so I had no idea of what the menu was, but was pleased to learn that the choices at this location did not read like a CVS receipt. With the intentional list of choices, I opted for the fried catfish, which comes with 2 choices of sides. The mac & cheese is so good, I wished I could order in bulk. Not sure how they manage to create the smokiness without the addition of bacon, but it hits all the right notes. Batter fried catfish sandwich was a home run as well. It was also nice to catch up with Kia, @Ferhat Yalcin's wife. She mentioned to me that there will be a third location slated to open for Fall 2019 in Columbia. She shared with me the challenges of being a business owner, and the 8 years it took to find their groove. With Fishnet, they are creating a sustainable business model to which they are confident in expanding. The decision to close Drift on 7th was a hard one, but they came to a realization that the model was not feasible both financially as well as mentally. Giving birth to a restaurant takes commitment of essentially being their 100% of the time, and not having that ability, lead do reassessing what they wanted to do. Often taking a few steps back to take a look at the big picture ensures success for what you ultimately envision. Following their growth fills me with such a profound joy that I am fortunate to call them friends.Well done, Ferhat. Well done. Delish, kat
  11. I have been to several of their pop- ups, and actually I wish there was a way to get a notification on my phone to alert me of them. I am a fan. I have also made it to their brick and mortar and find it one of the best playlist in the city. The energy of the place is young, and they are certainly slinging tasty buns & bowls. . So far, I have had the tempura broccoli, neighborhood bird, and tofu brah, and have enjoyed every bite. I especially love the clever herb garnish of cilantro & mint. The freshness of herbs are reminiscent of Vietnamese flavors. I do admit the bao presentation is a bit "extra", but that would not prevent me from eating there. I find the flavors presented are unique ( Taiwanese & Ethiopian) and will make the total 90 minute drive just to indulge in their offerings. They also can be found at the Baltimore's Farmers Market & Bazaar on Sundays as well as several pop- ups throughout the DMV.
  12. Grand Opening today at Mt Vernon Marketplace! Come out and support one of the finest persons I have met when I first moved to the DMV! Baltimore is lucky to have you. 13. Ill pose that question directly to Nick Kokonas. That would be of great help in navigating regionally, rather than going into each individual restaurant sites.
  14. PA Cider Fest It Runs in the Family- Ploughman Cider, Cider Culture , March 2019
  15. I admit I was initially excited to see Wegman's move into Lancaster, but the more I have the opportunity of visiting these local grocery shops, the more I realize that the shine of the big shops lose their appeal. Pine View is a fav, as well as all you have mentioned, and I think the tomato barn in Washington Borough is a gem.
  16. Thank you @ElGuapofor this update! I have added it to our calendar of events.
  17. Since moving back to the area, I am in continual awe of the richness of culture and sites Lancaster County has to offer. Ranging from the bounty that is offered at Lancaster Central Market, to the range of cuisine that is available at an abundance of spots throughout the city. Although the mystique of the Amish Community is what draws travelers to Lancaster County , there is a group of people that are looking to expand what you may think you know about their not so sleepy city. Lokal pronouced , "lou-call" is looking beyond the traditional tour, but rather curating experiences through out the region of Lancaster County which mostly run under 3 hours, and one that spans 4 hours that centers around the movie, "Witness". I recently had an opportunity to speak to Phil Lapp, both founder and brand ambassador, of Lokal Experiences. He shared with me what led to creating a different platform of tourism for the Lancaster County. He was often asked to offer tours to people visiting the area, and took it beyond the standard Amish offerings that are often advertised all over town. The rich history of Lancaster County is what he focused on, and his father had a connection to the film, Witness, that was filmed on an actual Amish Farm. This gave birth to what will become, "the Witness Experience", which will be launching next month. I will be attending the launch of the Witness Experience , and will report back . The experiences are featured on the website as well as listed on Airbnb. From what I know, Airbnb only features this service in major cities such as New York, Philadelphia, Washington DC, etc, so having this feature is a healthy indication that the road for Lancaster, Pa to become a destination city is well on its way. Lititz is another area that soon may become another reason to visit this area of Pennsylvania. The live production campus of Rock Lititz has gained a bit of notoriety in the last few years. Bands from the likes of the Rolling Stones, and musicians arrive here to run sound checks, and practice their sets before heading out on tour. Recently, both Taylor Swift as well as Ariana Grande were spotted in Lancaster. The recent opening of Hotel Rock Lititz has certainly become a go to spot with design features tied into live production details, and while you are there be sure to dine at Per Diem. I have said this many times over. There is so much to explore in Lancaster County, and with the ambitions Lokal Experiences , you may come to see the Amish, but stay to experience the bounty beyond what you may expect. Explore Lancaster, kat
  18. Maybe at either locations of the Italian Store in Arlington?
  19. Food Hall in Boston getting a $30 Million investment!
  20. The next time you are traveling on York Road either heading south to Timonium, or north to York, I highly recommend making a pit stop at this station. A quaint little coffee shop that serves Mexican food & fair trade, organic coffee. Yeah, you read that right. Best Brisket Tacos I have had to date, and great coffee too! Tacos! off beat, kat
