  1. I appreciate all this in advance. My son just moved to Tilburg Netherlands for the next 6 months and I will be visiting him, Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Brussels in April. Hopefully by the time I get there he starts to appreciate Indonesian food.
  2. I have enjoyed Proof many time, I believe most recently in November. It is a solid choice with very good wine and cheese selections. Not cheap, I only hoped they have some of those flashlights/magnifiers left as I seem to have a few at home!! Very dark.
  3. That is the luck of the draw though I am surprised they didn't play both Men's Semis on same day. I am sure Roger is enjoying that extra day of rest.
  4. I live close to Montgomery mall during week and haven't been inside in over a year. Been think about Fish Taco but typically visit local joints in Annapolis where I call home.
  5. Short ribs braised in wine latkes Carrots and leeks
  6. Can you be bribed. I would let you pick a bottle from the cellar or 5 we can use the coravin on.
  7. 1960, no way. BTW you must know one of the Wasser boys. I've known Joe for 26 years as our kids grew up at same time.
  8. Our remodel included 2 dishwashers. One is a 1/2 drawer dishwasher which we use most of the time, Highly recommended. We also got the biggest sink we liked. Including the wet area it is 45" x 18-1/2" x 9-13/16" .. Huge Almost all of our cabinets have drawers, even the pantry's have pull outs inside the doors. The back of the island has a few regular cabinets for odd items like the stand mixer. My pots go in the 4 drawers on either side of the stove, on the right is a small pull out which holds tongs and tools. Also have a dedicated knife drawer with soft inserts. http://www.photopian.com/galleries/kenwood/streger/
  9. I used Grubhub, hopefully they deliver as promised. I asked my son, he says he uses whomever, he has no allegiance.
  10. A friend's son is ill and I volunteered to deliver a meal tomorrow in Clevland Park. Fat Pete's look about right and then I see many choices for delivery. grubhub, Doordash and one whose name escapes me. Anyone use any of these?
  11. I believe the stools are from Basset Furniture. We eat most of our meals in that part of the kitchen. The tile installer was great, his grout lines are amazing. And he didn't break one glass tile!!!
  12. We put in 2 Marvel coolers in our island. One for wine and one for beer. So far they have been performing well and would recommend.
  13. These are much better pictures of our kitchen. http://www.photopian.com/galleries/kenwood/streger/
  14. This is my view when I am in Annapolis. My preference is to mostly cook and look out the windows.
  15. Yes. Works great though I use it most for dessert wines.
  16. I believe in having and using several knives, similar to having many tools in my toolbox. Also depends what I am cutting and how much of it. For flattening garlic my 8" wide Wusthof is better suited them the Misen. I also have several knives which I tend to let guests use when they are helping, unsure yet of whether the Misen will fall into that category.
  17. I have a few bottles. of Billecart Salmon Brut Rose ready to start off Thanksgiving. It is a tradition in our house and my wife's favorite champagne.
  18. Had the Boozy Brunch at Boqueria in SOHO last weekend. It was really great as 4 shared 4 tapas, Breakfast Paella and dessert. The Paella alone would have filled me up for days and unlimited Blood Orange Sangria helped me get into the proper spirit to sleep on the train home. Have to try the Brunch at the Dupont location soon.
  19. Totally agree. Have been here a few times and always enjoyed. And I can always get a table which is the opposite of some places that have gotten uber Popular. One of my friends swears by the Margarita Salmon over salad.
  20. Esca was a solid hit. Sat down at 5:15 and was out by 7;45 as was everyone else who were all going to theatre. Service was busy and we were immediately told that there wasn't enough time for the tasting menu. Highlight was Bronzino for two cooked in Salt and fileted at table.. Served perfectly and the taste was sublime. This is not a cheap place but it wasn't over the top by NY standards. We did have a Rosso de Montlepucino for $80 that was drinking great. Highly recommended
  21. Yeah-We decided that we are living here for a while. We have had several couples cooking at once and there is plenty or room. What you don't see if that one wall is essentially all glass with 4 6' sliders opening up to the desk with a view of the South River and Chesapeake Bay. Flanking the freezer/Frig are pantries as there are no closets or doors. In fact we gave up a formal living room when we expanded and built the kitchen. The Refrigerator in the right has two pull out drawers so the door did not weight a ton. Having a dishwasher drawer is great as we mostly use that as opposed to the full size dishwasher. Countertops are all caeserstone. We liked the options.
