  1. I really like their AHI Tuna Poke salad. Good blend of tuna, cabbage and dressing.
  2. I agree with pool boy. I have a weber s670 and it can do it all from sear to rotiserie to cooking food for twenty. I. Use the grill as often as possible though the outside burner much less then grilling. This beast is 5 years old and has at least another 10 years in it. An outside gas line helps a lot as there is never the issue of running out.
  3. Not sure I have a normal rotation. Mostly come home, grab a bottle of wine, cook dinner.
  4. Edge for Beer, Curate for Tapas. Both were amazing. I can go for an edge IPA right now!!
  5. I agree with you. Craft is real good. My nephew reserved craft for his wedding and the food was amazing. Such that I've developed an addictions to hens of teh Woods Mushrooms.
  6. I need to stop by and pick up a bottle or two. Generally I never buy a single bottle as if it is good I'll want it again.
  7. I was at Grapeseed Saturday night, my wife and i giving my son his final dinner before he left to go back to college on Saturday. I had Porgy, my wife has Scallops and son destroyed the NY strip. If fact the food was so good we all cleared our plates. Alsong with some great salads and a a shared appetizer of fried oysters we had no room for dessert. The fried Oysters were great, my son who never had one was sad when they were gone. Service was not so good. We ordered a bottle of wine and my son ordered a beer. Wine was served and beer forgotton. When we reminded server, she was more interested in taking our order then getting the beer! They may have been down some staff as it seemed like out server was buried trying to serve all the table in the front. We'll be back as Grapeseed is alsways good. Jeff was in the kitchen and you could see him making sure each dish came out properly prepared.
  8. Sardi's is very reliable in Gaithersburg. It was closed for a fire last summer but appeared open and busy when I passed by last week. This is good Peruvian Chicken. It may not be the best but is is very good and the packed seats bear testamony top that. Value is there compared to Nandos where you can pay about double for the same amount of Chicken.
  9. Matchbox is fine before or after a CAPS game. Decent beer and a few good entrees. My sons like the sliders though I usally skip.
  10. I am going to bump this thread in hopes of additional feedback. We are going out on Thursday and in the Jewish tradtion will catch a movie and chinese food. We live in Rockville but aside from Michaels Noodles I cant remember the last time we ate out Chinese. We'll be going to the movies at Piek and Rose and hope to stay in that area or north towards 28 as that is close to where we live. It seems like Joes is a no brainer in case I get no additional feedback.
  11. Go to Jack Rose in Adams Morgan to try a few Rye's side by side. You will be happy and warm afterwards.
  12. I cross the river everyday for work. Possibly easier for me to drive from Potomac to Reston then going downtown. Coming back at nigh is always worse as VA improved and widened highways while MD has not.
  13. Anyplace to get a yard of beer in the DC area? Long time ago I would go to Tibor Creek, accross from Union Station, for a yard or two. Love to get a few with my sons before this is complely a myth.
  14. I cancel business meetings if the other party shows up 5 minutes late without reaching out to me. And I wish i could charge for time wasted, but i am not in legal profession. Dean is right- it is a verbal contract where both parties agree to do something. If the power runs out or gas turns off I am sure a lots of places will feel bad enough to honor their side of the agreement and provide something extra either then or the next time. Why should we as diners be held to same standard.
  15. Do they accomondate handicap issues for waiting. I just had my hip replaced and will not be able to wait online more then 5 minutes, much less 30.
  16. My wife and I went last Saturday night and had a less then satisfying experience. 1-Our Tandoor wings came to us undercooked. Pink, raw chicken inside. 2-Could not really enjoy our mains as we were seated close to bar and a party suddenly appeared and started taking over the area. As we were eating, our trying to, they started buffet service next to us. It would have been nice to have been informed this was going to happen and give us a choice of sitting on the other side away from the bar. We may return but there are other close by options.
  17. Asheville is amaziing. My wife and I were there last weekend for 4 days and lets just say it kicks butt. On a par with Charleston but half the price, over 30 breweries in town and a great college vibe. Beers- We stopped by Wedge, LAB and Wicked Weed. The IPA at Wedge was so good that my wife wantedto return. And prices around town are $4 a pint, $12 Picther for amazing beer. Much better then what I paid $11 for at Penn Commons a week ago. Breatfeast at Tupelo Honey Cafe is great, truely an institution. This is the sort of brunch you can only eat once in a while, honest great wooe. Dinners included Bull and Beggar, Curate and Rhum. Would return to all and will just say that Curate is better then any Tapas place in DC at a lower price point. Direct message me if you need more details, otherwise google one of their beer festivals and get down there.
  18. My wife and I broke fast on Saturday night at Dino's. It was spontaneous as we walked around the mall and at 5pm were starved and dint want to drive back to the burbs without food. Called Dinos and drove there quickly for their take on a Jewish Breakfast meal. We had the veggie option with Salmon though somehow one of our appetizers was chopped liver and we didnt complain. The food was great and i'll have to come back to the Grotto soon with my son who live nearby.
  19. KeithSTG, what do you use to cool your room. I have a Breezaire WK3000, and I believe it needs to be replaced after 14 years. Lots of frost on the unit and it constantly runs. They are not serviceable and I'll have to get the same unit because of the hole in the wall.
  20. I didnt attend as I usally sail when the weather is nice though that weekend I was watching my son's college hockey team play two games in Princeton, NJ.
  21. I visit here about once a month as the boat club I sail from is one block away. Crab Cakes are always good whether you eat there or take and cook at home. Very nice with a chilled bottle of wine after a day on the bay. And since the tables are outside I do not have to worry much about appearance.
  22. Any beef ribs/ When I went to Austin the1-2 lb beef ribs were amazing and I need to find them again.
  23. Interesting, I always park in Garage under Dawsons. Will try Garage A the next time I am there.
