  1. I have the same, my daughter rarely eats meat and never hamburgers UNLESS I take her to HB.
  2. I will be there too - Put me down for something berryish.
  3. I have found that too - but keeping consistent has been a huge issue here. When they good they are GREAT, when they are bad they are HORRID.Dieting for a few more weeks with summer coming, but hoping they have trained staff over the summer. Marc - I know it is early but hopefully sweet corn coming this summer.
  4. Made it to national news - Obama has lunch and pays for the entire news corp at Hell Burger. Left $5 in the tip jar - as reported by MSNBC - 5 Full minutes on national news feed.
  5. So what did they eat? Bet they had great service. Was there any extra security at the restaurant last night? I was at the Wizards game that Obama went to and it was announced by the Wizards that afternoon that he was coming - They announced to ask fans to come early due to extra security. Secret service did a GREAT job that night and got everyone thru the metal detectors quickly, but it was public knowledge where he would be a few hours before the event. (Don - I know very off topic, maybe start a new thread under media called Obama dinners and events).
  6. Wow - Happy Birthday DR.com I was away last week, hope everyone had a great "To Rocks"
  7. Bethesda is still working out the kinks (had lunch on Friday). They have rookies on the grill - Very Very nice front counter staff. - I think they will work into a groove but they have only been open two weeks.
  8. I was at Paradiso yesterday (Dupont) - Really enjoyed it.
  9. In Silver Spring the construction for the past two years destroyed that location. I hope she gets to open another location. WF does not do this product justice and Susan is the nicest lady (Only met her once after her store screwed up my order - She made it right, a fresh batch is more than making up for it). Is Hell Burger still serving Moorenko's?
  10. On March 24, donate a non-perishable food item and receive a scoop for $1! Enjoy your favorite flavor AND help others in need. Now that's what we call a sweet deal! All donations will be supplied to your community's local food bank.
  11. I prefer Two Amy's - Didn't like comet but only tried it once
  12. I was there tonight. I will admit - wound up there because Matchbox had a 1/2 hour wait at 5:00 and had the girls downtown for circus. Never heard of the place before but I had promised pizza. The pasta was good and definitely fresh, some of the sauces could use a bit more flavor. The sauces are mixed together immediate so this is going to vary with who you get. I also told them it was for the kids so I think they dumbed down the sauce (not necessary a bad thing with my kids but...). Just an FYI - My kids thought the pasta and white sauce was "THE BEST" so you can take that for what it is worth. Pizza - was good (not great good). Crust was crunchy and also definitely freshly but missing something. Cheese was plentiful and flavorful, tomato sauce not overpowering to allow other flavor thru. The proscutto was good middle of the road proscutto (Had better, was expecting bulk mass food crap and definitely exceeded that). Desserts - Missing a step, Chocolate Mousse (Must be spoiled by RTS and everyone else pales), also tried panna cotta (I LOVE Trader Joes and this wasn't even close the strawberry sauce was too sweet with no real fruit and the base makes you regret wasting the calories) they have two sizes mini and reguar. Bottom Line - If going to Verizon Center can be okay but will probably be inconsistent. Definitely not worth a special trip.
  13. Palm in Bethesda - Bet there is at least an hour wait on Saturday nights
  14. Sorry - Can't do tomorrow (Do I hear Sunday?)
  15. Brunch this Sunday sounds really good - How about an old standby - HEOTB or New Fortune.
  16. Anyone been lately - This is where my group decided to go next weekend and it was easier to just say I'll be there. Is the food edible? Decent? Should I order a steak or have I been too spoiled by Ray's?
  17. I was wondering if you knew of any restaurants in DC that are metro accessible, moderately priced and have fish/veggie options? Since our friend is staying at the National Harbor (PG/DC line), it makes sense to me that we stay in DC for dinner. Several of our group don't want to leave Montgomery County, but do not want him to have an exorbitant taxi ride back to his hotel from the restaurant. Let me know what you might recommend. Maybe Capital Hill? thanks -
  18. Probably can't use it on their half price nights - Monday & Tuesday. Not what I would call great pizza but fun place for a large group.
  19. New Crack - Trader Joe's dark chocolate non pariel (73%)
  20. That is how it was today Over salted and Over peppered - Ate about three bites.Told one of the guys behind the counter that looked like a manager (must have been wrong, there were four people behind the counter) and I assumed he would offer to recook one. Not even an apology - just an oh with a strange look like it was me (Guess Marc was out - didn't ask for him, shouldn't have to and don't like to name drop). - so I tossed it and saved the calories for the Wizards game tonight. Spring is coming I hope they are stepping it up a notch for both food & service.
  21. I had stopped in at early dinner time with kids and planned to try their pizza. Was told rather rudely - "We don't serve pizza at dinner" We left so can't give any opinions as to the food
  22. I went tonight for the first time. Was hoping they were on tonight - It was not bad but not really good either. We had 3 pies; Tomato - Was ok - nothing special but ok Smoke special - Smoked Gouda did not combine well or add anything - felt forced rather than a meeting of flavors BBQ Duck - BBQ sauce was too sweet and overwhelming Ordered a piece of cake and ice cream for dessert - The cake was good but a very small square for $5, even my daughter asked where the rest was. Ice Cream was acceptable but for homeade in house ice cream was just expecting something creamier and more special. At $63 after tip - My conclusion is probably won't be back with Two Amy's up the Road and Mia's more in my backyard.
  23. Huge difference between the two sides. We sat in the loud side tonight since the girls were with me and didn't want to bother any real couples.Said hi to a few Rockwell friends tonight - and dinner was incredible! Marrow on top (smile smile). Mac and cheese (yay) New servers and they were great - nice, friendly efficient and had a smile while being very busy. At 6pm very full
