  1. Boy, this topic i started has turned out pretty well. Dino, I appreciate the analysis you have done on the subject. I started this by just ranting that I just didn't like the electric hand dryers. I still prefer a towel. My real preference is for my hands to be lovingly hand dried by a beautiful large breasted woman or two. If your are going for the Grotto theme, you should consider other grottos. How would Heff have handled it?
  2. I am sure you are aware that the general public (me) hates those electric hand dryers. They take too long, and just plain don't work. The Dyson thing is no better than the conventional.
  3. So, its not a local chain, we wish would go national. Its a national chain some would want to expand locally. A bit off topic.
  4. It's still vacant. They seemed to be hit hard when the streets and sidewalks were refurbished, and access to the building was made difficult for quite a while. They didn't seem to rebound after that. They were pretty good as a local diner type food. Not high aspirations, but consistent.
  5. I agree with you, Don. They are a good, relatively healthy fast food option. My only issue is too much salt. The salad is a good option as well if you want to cut the carbs.
  6. I'll second this. Pierre Ferrand Dry Curacao
  7. Sorry Don, you are not correct. It was the Italian Store, and it was in the Giant shopping center on 123. It was approximately where the Popeye's is now.
  8. We were at Range a couple of weeks ago. I was prepared to find fault, because I thought the menu was too trendy and expensive. All in all we both liked it. It was exciting to see everyone at the restaurant to be so excited about working at this new concept. We found all of the menu selections to be very tasty, and the cocktails were terrific. I didn't have a problem with the service, but we were there quite early, before 6:00p. I did wish my second drink came more quickly, and I would have ordered another if there was more timely delivery of the drinks. My only complaint was on the menu. It was expensive, but that wasn't the problem. There were some dishes that were big enough to share, and others that weren't, There was no indication on the menu concerning which category the dish falls into. The price can't be used as a guide, as some of the smaller menu items are priced higher due to the cost of the ingredients.
  9. Are any of the Lettuce Entertain You places any good? I have yet to find one that is worth while.
  10. The answer to all "where can I buy this liquor?" questions is Ace Beverage. See first post (pinned)
  11. Thanks for this, I assumed the tiki drinks would leave with the Hawaiian food. I wonder how rum will go with chicken livers., and matzoh ball soup
  12. Check out the book Bitters: A Spirited History of a Classic Cure-All, with Cocktails, Recipes, and Formulas by Brad Thomas Parsons
  13. Your comments would have more impact if you had visited the establishment
  14. I got a surprise when I was at Whole Foods, yesterday. I went in to buy three bottles of wine, but found eight that I was interested in. When checking out, the cashier told me they don't take checks any more, only cash or credit. Needless to say, they lost that sale, and probably many more. This was news to me. Has anyone else experiened this?
  15. We enjoyed our aniversary dinner here last Saturday. I found the food was good, but not exciting. My impression was that the place can't decide if it wants to be fine dinning or a Bistro. It doesn't do very well at either.
