  1. I always think of the Asian heroin trade when I hear the phrase "golden triangle." And yes, it makes me laugh every time I am over by Farragut and see the "Golden Triangle BID" signs.
  2. I don't eat seafood, but the husband and the friends do. And I love Ann Cashion's cooking. So, we went last night, and sat at the bar for dinner for the first time since they were on P Street. T had crab cake, L had halibut, and I had the poulet. And it was delicious. And the drinks were delicious (they started with manhattans, and I had a champagne cocktail.) Oh, and for apps we had the trotter tots and mussles. The bottle of vouvray was delicious. The desserts were also fabulous (one cheese plate, one roasted pear, and dang, I have forgotten what T ate, but it was good too.....) The service was also very good, from the pleasant greeting, to the help finding bar seats, and the lovely bartenders who made good drinks, noticed every time we needed something, and were simply efficient, pleasant, and professional, without ever being obtrusive. We'll be back.
  3. Hey folks - at some point I read that the daughter of the folks who ran Zenebech also had a restaurant. Now I can't remember where I read that! Is it true? If so, where is it and what is its name? Thanks!
  4. We went on Friday - I got the passes for 10 AM, and we were in line at 9:30. There were lines, but it wasn't that hideous. Looked pretty congested by the time we left though. Go early, have passes, get there early seems to be the way to go. It was beautiful, and I very much want some of those sculptures from the "My Eternal Soul" pieces.
  5. I find it closer, but then, I live on the green line. Yes, I would like the menu to change a bit more. And I want the goat cheese in the potato cage back!
  6. Ah, so delicious. We had dinner at the bar tonight for the husband's birthday. We didn't know the bartender, and failed to get her name, but she was lovely. The food was delicious (I had the bar menu, while he ordered off the regular menu.) I had a kir royale, he had a sazerac, then we had a bottle of delicious wine, of a variety we had never heard of - Marsanne - on the chef's recommendation. We always say it's been too long since we ate there, and it's true - we should eat there more often. Everyone should!
  7. The Post had an article about this earlier today.
  8. And now, I need to find another, similar, place. I really prefer to taste the stuff before I buy!
  9. Have you read this piece? Perhaps an email to the author for the name of his PT would be a good idea.
  10. I eat at the SW location periodically. The food is good, the service is better in the dining room than in the bar (which is backwards, IMO).
  11. I did, even if they didn't! Had a marvelous marvelous dinner at the bar on Monday. (And I actually tried to say hi to you, as my friend Jaime told me to, but you weren't there.)
  12. I'm getting PT there right now for a hip replacement revision. Blair is great, and the therapy is really making a difference, but I'm not sure she's exceptionally strong.
  13. Oh, absolutely. But in order to get to the bar wanting it, you need to know it exists. You will not find that information on the website. I only know it exists from reading here.
  14. They've never had it on the website. You just need to know about it.
  15. When we can tomatoes and have a lot of tomato water, it gets used to make Todd Thrasher's Bloody Marys
  16. It's been like that. Was worse over the weekend (I live close.) There's a lot of spillover into my regular 11th Street places. Good for them, makes it hard for me to get a seat some places!
