"When was the last time we had a full blown, take over the bar, DR.com happy hour?" she asks herself while dreaming of drinking establishments where children are not welcome as she finishes yet another report

jparrott is going to be near firefly, hillvalley wants a good happy hour.

hmm, maybe you guys should think of something near firefly and toast the name (if not the current affiliation) of our newest member...?

Are you offering to organize?

I only organize events with 30 or more people that involve PayPal nightmares

For those of us who don't every nook and cranny of the restaurant/ wine world, he is?.......

I got off work early today, and I am already in Dupont Circle, so I vote for firefly. I am flexible, though, so I will try to check back in about an hour to see what the final decision is. Either way, I will probably catch a drink at FF, since i'm in the neighborhood.

I'll be escorting my 6-year-old daughter to the school dance, so no booze for me.  It's been a long time since I was thrown out a school dance for drinking.

I always thought that was the only reason that adults let themselves be talked into that. I always imagined a big pitcher of something spiked in the Coach's Office while the kiddies were dancing in the gym.

Well, there just might be a something in my car. And I might need to make a couple of trips to the parking lot.

Hoping to stop by Palena tonite...we're on a tight budget now that our kitchen renovation has begun  but I insisted that we need to get out to someplace that won't break the bank to have some sort of recognition for our 19yr anniversary today. We would've gone to the grill for lunch if it had been open today... (Now that's a cheap date!) :P

A friend and I just made plans to get some guacamole and beer at Rosa Mexicano.  What time do you think the U2 crowd will head over to MCI?

Ticket says the show is at 7:30. There's an opening act though, so people might take their time getting there.

Apparently they are already there and have been there since early this morning. At least the folks camping out to get the best GA seats.

If there's anyone not going to the U2 concert tonight, look for me and husband and friend at Dino.

We're changing venues - see you at Dino! There will be three of us (unless you want to join, Meaghan, in which case we're four). I'm easy to spot in my yellow shirt. Say hi. Edited by JLK

They'll be elbow-deep in Rockwellians! I'll probably be at the bar doing my best to diminish the olive supply. And bitching about the absent rosato.

Off topic, I know, but wasn't the U2 show awesome last night! We were as far away from the stage as one could possibly be--the VERY LAST ROW in the arena (as my husband joked, "I always wondered who got these seats"), but the sound was still great.

Try the new free run nebbiolo from Cantina del Pino as a substitte. Its in the light red to sorta pink category, a little more substantial but still yummy. We will await the new Sangiovese Rosato from the Horse as well.
