  1. I am hoping he doesn't do that. Too much competition in DC and he will not be in Naptown cooking.
  2. I looked at the menu and it seemed heavy and old-school. I hit 60 is 6 month, watch my cholesterol and am trying to get in great shape. Now if only I could give up wine!
  3. We have a Newks in Annapolis. Never been, not going as I try to support the local spots as much as possible.
  4. I tried the District Taco in Tysons and was not impressed. It was meh with the salsa being the highlight. Not in the rotation.
  5. Interesting, we did the reverse. Raised our kids in Montgomery County for the Wootton school system, moved to Annapolis when they left for college for sailing and small town charm.
  6. Les Folies in Annapolis says au revoir after 20 years, closing on the 26th. I have only been there fro a wine dinner and it was very good. http://www.capitalgazette.com/news/business/ac-cn-les-folies-closing-0619-story.html
  7. Walk to Jack Rose is Adams Morgan if they are open. Drink, Uber back to Marriott.
  8. Ate here last night with some friends. Much more crowded a week after opening. Had a great roasted 1/2 chicken which was semi-boned such that the breast was boneless while still attached to the 1st wing section. Brussels sprouts were not roasted to carmelization but were served with a tangy dressing. My wife had the salmon salad and loved the smoked salmon. We went to the back bar after to part the 3rd period of the hockey game.. Very nice. BJs will suffer as the back bar has good food as well as being much brighter.
  9. I would think that if you selected the fruit in the store you should not return it. But if you use a service like Peapod or Amazon/Whole Foods where they select for you then you have every right to return.
  10. I believe 66 to 81, that seems fastest. We are staying in Asheville for 2 nights, then backpacking in the Blue Ridge mountains for 4 days before another 2 nights in Asheville. Beer and food in town, scenery and outdoors while hiking. Would be happy if the drive is 6ish hours not including a lunch break.
  11. Any suggestions to stop on the drive to or from DMV to Asheville?
  12. I ate at Patsy's last Wednesday and the service was great. All of the servers came from other GAR locations. The food was quite good and in fact I'll be back again this Wednesday. Tysons needs a few more place like this that are reliable and have reasonably good food. They have a back bar which looked great and seems to be a good alternative to BJs for watching sports.
  13. Vin909 in Annapolis offers up some great flatbread style pizzas. Unfortunate for us locals that a Washington Post review a few years back generated too much fame and interest. Impossible to get in during weekends of tourist season.
  14. At Charleston, desert or the cheese cart, is included with dinner. These are current prices. I think food and service is on par if not better then the Inn. https://charlestonrestaurant.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/MENU-MAIN_06.03.19.pdf 3 courses $79 w/wine $135 4 courses $94 w/wine $164 5 courses $109 w/wine $192 6 courses $124 w/wine $222
  15. I recall he was a great butcher. One of my first visits in SS he took our order, cut the beef, cooked the beef and served the beef. Classic.
  16. Given that the owner are Tony Foreman and Cindy Wolf this place should be great. I'll have to check this out as I am a huge fan of Cindy Wolf who IMHO runs one of the best restaurants in the DMV, Charleston.
  17. Its esthetics. We sent with Caesarstone in Kitchen, 3 bathrooms and bar. All told 6 different colors/styles, we are very happy.
  18. Interesting that Dogfish and most craft beers are now in cans where a few years back not so much.
  19. we stuck with traditional and got the color from tiles, counters and such.
