    I just adore A. Alberts. I think that I had the best steak of my life there. I am going to give Craft Steak a shot next week when I am there. I will report back.

    How do you people do it? Just reading about the desserts made me gain 10 pounds! I am going to have to give Palena another shot. I am thinking of taking my fiance there and testing it for the meal where our parents meet each other for the first time. Think Palena would be a good place for that?

    Sorry if there is already a topic for this place, but I did a search and came up with nothin'. My Fiance and I went to this little joint on Sunday night to celebrate the fact that we had Monday off. This is the second time that we had been there and the second time that we have enjoyed our meal. Generally speaking Woodley Park is a wasteland with restaurants catering to what I call, "the hotel people". Sake Club is beautiful inside, with candle light everywhere and soothing music playing softly in the background. When we went for our early dinner we were the only couple in the joint, but by 6:30 the place was starting to fill up. We had sushi only, with the highlights being the crunchy scallop and rainbow roll. Also mad props to the fatty tuna. The presentation was lovely with lots of colorful touches to the plate. We have decided that it now ranks as the second best sushi in town for us after Sushio-Ko and we actually may go there a lot more often since it is in the Hood. Anyone else been there and care to comment?

    s a bride that is getting married in October, if I was not consulted about where and when the rehearsal dinner was going to be I would lose my mind. As for places: I friend of mine went to a rehearsal dinner at cafe atlantico and said it was out of this world

    Sushi is always fun. Sushi-Ko or sushi taro. I had my 21st at The Linebacker Lounge in South Bend, IN. The only food I got there was the cherry that was in the bottom of my long island iced tea.

    A group of four of us went to sit on the rooftop and eat sushi last night. We each ordered a couple of cocktails (the bilinitini to be exact), and they were pretty good. A mix of champagne, peach schnapps, chambord, and something else I can't remember. We then ordered a mess of sushi including about 6 rolls and two orders of nigiri. Everything tasted pretty good, not as good in my opinion as sushi toro but it was good. but get this: the tab was over $200 bucks for the four of us! Do they get to charge more simply for the view or what?!!? I couldn't believe it. This was for so-so food, slow service (to defend our server it was only his second day on the job and it was packed) and an order that was screwed up at first and with extra charges for things we did not drink which we had to get fixed before we paid the bill. In my opinion too expensive for the quality of the food.

    So I am leaving for Vegas tomorrow for (gulp) a whole week. What is the latest and the greatest? I am planing the old skool steak dinner at least one night and I was planning on sushi one night as well. What do you all think?

    I have to disagree 100 times over. Bourbon is such a great addition to the neighborhood. The staff has always gone out of their way to make Roger Troutman and I feel welcome. where else can you have your choice of over 50 bourbons and about 20 wine by the glass choices in this city? And the food? I am on a wedding starvation diet right now, but if I could do a blow out calories don't count kind of meal right now? I would run to Bourbon and ask for a triple order of sweet potato chips, a double order of the wings, and then I would eat the hell out of an order of the portobello with goat cheese sandwich. As far as the patio goes, I think that they have not quite opened it up yet. But the barkeep said that that it is also going to be open during the winter with heat lamps so we can smoke when the ban goes into effect.

    I would check this, but I bet that Tonic in Mt. Pleasant is showing it. The food is ok there (good philly cheesesteak and great pulled pork sand.) but the service can be kind of crappy.

    Actually, it is next to the International Brotherhood of Teamsters building, not the AFL-CIO and there is a legitimate labor dispute there. So hopefully, the new joint will be wonderful, I will be able to dine there and there is love all around

    I have never been to this place but work right next door. I for one would never cross a picket line, which is what this place has had for about four years or so. Sad of course for the workers that will lose their jobs.

    Roger Troutman and I are spending our Valentine's Day there. So glad to hear that the place was a hit. I am dieting like a mad woman right now as we are getting married in October, so this will be a night where I get to have whatever I want. We had to do a $25.00 charge to reserve a table on that day that they will charge if we don't show.

    I saw the Bushies eating at sake in Adams Morgan one night. If by eating you mean, smoking marlboro reds and drinking bright colored cocktails served in martini glasses. But back to the Town Hall- are there many vegatarian options on the menu there?

    Went to Gallileo for RW last night and the entire menu was available. Was such a good deal that Mayor Bow-Tie was eating there last night as well. There was a great floor show, too as Roberto was teaching a class in the kitchen which could be seen from our table. I adore RW.

    God damn, when you are right you are right. I love this dish. I used to get this everytime I went to Sweetwater. I also think that they mix good cocktails at this joint.

    It should come up more often! It is where Roger Troutman and I got engaged on Monday night! (actually, that is a lie. technically we got engaged at Pharmacy Bar but we had a romantic dinner and champagne at the Little Fountain Cafe)

    They have been working on "opening" this place for about a year now. It is about time that this place opens its doors. I would like to know more about the food that they will be serving...Is it going to be the same menu as Tryst?

    The happy hour at Tonic is pretty awesome. All of their burgers are 1/2 price and they knock a pretty substantial amount off of their drinks. (can't remember the details of the drink price, though) Or you could just eat the 1/2 price burger and then drink at the Raven for the cheapest date in D.C. And the best graffiti in a three state radius.
