  1. Opening today, Nov. 18 (via Chase the Submarine's Facebook page - opening date at the end of the video). Address is 132 Church St NW in Vienna.
  2. "Bunk Sandwiches Opens in Brooklyn, Bringing Another Slice of Portland Food Culture to NYC" by Michael Russell on oregonlive.com Opened on 11/17/15 at 740 Driggs Ave.
  3. Urban Outfitters is buying the Vetri restaurant group except the restaurant Vetri. There are a bunch of news articles -- here's one.
  4. Yes! The menu at the bar at Bourbon Steak. I'm surprised no one tried to figure out what was on the nachos, though the makeup of the nachos would have led me to guess DGS (DGS has a good reuben egg roll). From the bar menu (also attached): Reuben nachos - house pastrami, secret sauce, sauerkraut, caraway corn chips. (They were good but like having the guts of a sandwich on chips. Not quite nacho-like, though I think the secret sauce had cheese in it. I prefer traditional nachos.)
  5. Not the Source but another good guess given that the Source can be pricey. I really like both the Source and this spot, despite the expense. This place has some upscale, expensive bar food and good (also expensive) cocktails.
  6. Sorry ktmoomau! Not Bar Pilar but good guess. (And I should try the nachos at Toro Toro sometime). Another hint -- these nachos cost $18.
  7. Not Toro Toro but keep guessing. Hints -- the place is in DC, these were not traditional nachos, and the nachos were on the bar menu (but not listed on the menu on the website).
  8. Black Seed also has locations now in Battery Park City and the East Village. 10/13/2015 - "Black Seed Brings $11.50 Egg Sandwich to the East Village" by Nell Casey on gothamist.com
  9. Opened last year at the new location at 127 Columbia St, Brooklyn. Report from last year on new location here: 10/28/2014 - "First Look at Pok Pok Phat Thai's New Brooklyn Home" by Sierra Tishgart on grubstreet.com
  10. Not Daikaya (not a special either). The chips were pretty uniform looking, but the description of the chips made it seem like they may be housemade. I haven't seen these type of chips before.ETA- but maybe the chips are bought. I'm googling. I just don't know. It's the kind of place where they may be housemade (and I'd assume they are).
  11. A second location is opening at 1924 8th Street (the Shay building in Shaw) on Dec. 5 (via Washington Post). Tim Carman also reports that the head chef is William Teague and...
  12. Primanti Brothers is opening in Hagerstown, MD on Nov. 13, 2015. The WTOP article also says, "In addition to the new Maryland location, Primanti Bros. has more than a dozen locations around Pittsburgh, with more in Pennsylvania, Florida, Ohio and West Virginia."
  13. PoPville says the Green Bee Cafe, by the owners of Bread and Brew, has opened where Newton's Noodles was. The Green Bee Cafe's website describes it as follows:
  14. They probably are homemade, but they also weren't classic "tater tots." Tater tots have chopped/shredded potato inside. These were more like mashed potato fritters.
