  1. 1. Rose's Rooftop 2. Rose's Chef Counter 3. Nothing even close. Honorable Mention: Happy Hour at BlackSalt. Stop in here at least every couple weeks on my way home. Great food options ($1 local oysters) and excellent service. FL: Fin Bistro (Marco Island)
  2. Headed here for a long weekend in mid-Feb (post Fat Tuesday) with wife before her conference starts. We are flying in Friday morning and I am leaving Monday morning. So far we have the following reservations: Friday Lunch - Antoine's (Commander's was already booked) Friday Dinner - August Saturday Lunch - thinking Couchon Butcher Saturday Dinner - Sylvain Sunday Brunch - Brennan's Sunday Dinner - Johnny Sanchez Anyone see anything they would change or other suggestions?
  3. Any recent reports? Headed here with the family for spring break in early April.
  4. My co-workers love the Old Town location for our group/birthday lunches. I try to work from home on those days, not even the prospect of a free lunch is enough to make me endure this place.
  5. Stopped in here for dinner Saturday night before a movie with friends. We sat at the bar, which is huge. Friendly bartender walked us through the menus (they have a separate Bar Menu) and the drink menu. They have some Fat Tuesday looking machine at the bar filled with a bunch of different juices or something, not my thing so was not really paying attention. Tried a couple of app (tuna/salmon tartare and brown sugar beef from their Char Bar), overpriced but passable. We all ordered burgers which were fine and cooked to order but seemed a bit small. All in all, nice space to grab a quick bite before a movie but not a dining destination. Place was packed when we left around 8 or so for the movie.
  6. We have kept the Bethesda location in our rotation and they are consistent. The Old Town Alexandria location on the other hand is a mess.
  7. Wow, this new building is not doing well. First, Roof and now Smashburger. I wonder if the Dunkin Donuts will survive. Looks like Robert Dyer picked up your post and ran a story on the Bethesda location closing. Apparently, Smashburger is denying: Smashburger marketing manager Christine Ferris says Smashburger is "not closing our location in Bethesda. We love the area and have no plans on closing that location in the future."
  8. Border Grill for Mexican is very good - original location in Mandalay Bay. They also now have a location in the Forum Shops at Caesars. It you don't make it there for dinner they also have a great brunch on the weekends (unlimited small plates for $35 and bottomless mimosas for $10). Public House (gastropub) at the Venetian Canal Shoppes may be a good casual dinner spot - not sure if you will be able to just show up to though.
