  1. Anyone know if Noel is still working at The Queen Vic? Good guy, always enjoy a beer and chat down there.
  2. Still (kind of) lives on with the name and signage for the strip on its old plot. "Georgia Crossing at the Anchor Inn" https://goo.gl/maps/Xdfm1KTaNy92 We were more of a Sir Walter Raleigh Inn family
  3. The Post gives it some love for the rye soft serve and soccer: Sep 18, 2015 - "The Airedale Scores, if You're a Soccer Fan, or a Soft-Serve Aficianado" by Maura Judkis on washingtonpost.com
  4. Actually you can still get some interesting regional beers at a few other stands. I like Baseline Brews behind section 133 - I've seen DC Brau, Atlas, Victory and other good stuff there. If you want Flying Dog, go up to the 223 area (near a District Drafts too) and there's a bar with 2 or 3 of their brews on tap.
  5. I don't know, is there an &Pizza withing 40 feet of that corner? That would be my bet.
  6. Has this been re-confirmed? I'm seeing super short lines at the ones I pass by (yes anecdotal evidence is not evidence).
  7. It could be read as FF swamp:shrimp/grits.:.rap:opera. But I won't really make that argument, he was just being a goober (especially with the antiquated White term "rap").
  8. Bandito likey! Washington Post’s ‘Bandito’ Tool Optimizes Content For Clicks (Wall Street Journal)
  9. "Had my waiter inquired, my posse would have told him the swamp posing as shrimp and grits was about as close to the southern model as rap is to opera."
  10. It gets worse. I appreciate the take-down of the place but it's done in Sietsema's classic flyover dweeb style.
  11. Le Steak Maison at Bistrot du Coin is now $22.95. I remember back in the days when I used to be able to leave home/work (the 2000s) it was more like $17. The Wayback Machine confirms: Menu in 2005
  12. Bantam is indeed in reference to the type of chicken -- because it's a chicken focused restaurant. And since it's replacing a Burger King, Bantam King is a play off the old place.
  13. Wiseguy Carving Room (pricey, but good when I want a Friday lunch beer at the bar)
